Celebrating two years of the Facebook group - one beer a day Beer Festival! Yes Saturday there is a beer festival. But Corona? You ask. But you are at the end of the world? You wonder? Nothing! In the Corona era anything is possible. Saturday there is a beer celebration as part of "one beer a day", a Facebook group for beer lovers. The group is managed by Beer and Beyond In Tel Aviv, they are among the leaders in bringing Israeli and international beers to the drinking public in the country. Two years is a long way and comes to beer - GEEKS of all kinds party, beers, tours of breweries, BEERTALK, and just plain jokes.
It is a bit ironic to think that in lieu ofthe Corona virus, the format of the festival would not have taken place. Who wants to have a virtual drink with friends when it is possible to meet and huddle together. I also miss this encounter but the truth is that the distance between Tel Aviv and Ketura is large enough that I would not have considered participating if it had taken place in the "live" version and not the virtual one. Yes, this is the upside down corona era which gave me access to events I would not even have been exposed to and gave me the option to be “present” at these events.
Hats off to Beer & Beyond and everyone involved. Saturday night I hope to sit on the couch in my home, with Facebook Live open but in the warmth of my "capsule". Be there and be here at the same time. Beers and snacks on the table and Dad jokes at the ready.
Sunday I will wake up to bottle a new beer that may be ready for the next birthday!
